A Tyler Tuesday Video Interlude

For this Tyler Tuesday, we have......Tyler sleeping, and Tiger....possessed?  2011.

Macauley

Image
This week I received some awful news.  Macauley, my "part time dog," crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the ripe old age of 13.  He had been battling health issues the past few months and passed away peacefully this past Tuesday night. Yes, I had a part time dog.   That was Macauley. Macauley was a simple Shih-Tzu, in fact he was a puppy mill dog, but that's where the "simple" ends. He was also Tyler's best friend.  Tyler and Macauley first met back in 2007.  Macauley came to live with me for a few weeks while his owner did some renovations on her house.  Having known Macauley for years, I was more than happy to take him in and provide a safe home while construction went on. Mind you, Tyler had not, to my knowledge, every lived with a dog, so I had no idea how he would react.  After all, he had been the only pet for years.  Would this be a disaster?  Would they fight like.....pardon the pun, cats and dogs? Quite the opposite....

Tyler Tuesday: An Observation

Image
For this week's Tyler Tuesday I would like to share an observation and pose a question. Check these out: These are pictures I took just a few moments ago.  Jackson, Tyler's final roommate, likes to curl up during the day on the same spot on our bed. That thing he's curled up next to?  A stuffed Toothless, from the "How to train your dragon" series of animated films. Notice a slight resemblance to Tyler?  Could Jackson be curled up with Toothless because of that resemblance? Does he still miss Tyler? I know I do.

True love

Image
It's Valentine's Day and I want to talk about what's on our minds  today. Chocolates? No. Love. What does love mean?  What is love?  Now that awful song is in my head.....   Will we ever really know what love is?  What love means?  Is it being there for each other?  Is it a feeling the person you spend the rest of your life gives you?  Is it sex?  They do call it making love after all.  Is it a connection?  Is it accepting someone unconditionally for life? Who knows.  We all define love differently, don't we? When did you know you were in love for the first time? Was it at first sight?  Was it when you met your significant other?   Not for me.  No, it wasn't my first girlfriend.  I thought it was, I was convinced it was, but hindsight is a beautiful thing. When did I first experience love?   That's easy.   When I adopted Tyler. Yup, a cat showed me the true meaning of love f...
