Cats just know......
I was going to post this little ditty (not about Jack and Diane) as just a status update, but I thought I would blog about it instead.
Here's something every cat owner should already be well aware of:
Cats. Just. Know.
Let's say that again: CATS JUST KNOW.
Know what?
When you need a little cheering up, of course!
Take this morning. I woke up stressed as all could be about, of all things, my paycheck. Minor issue, it's already been corrected. Nevertheless, at the time, let's just say I was less than thrilled about my check being a tad less than I had expected, and calculated.
Less than thrilled? I was a raving lunatic.
There, I said it.
After ranting and raving as only I can, I went about the business of my morning routine. A little cereal, a little cleaning. The usual "neat freak" routine that make up any morning in my little world.
I was stressed. I was unhappy.
That was all Sophie needed to know.
Halfway through my cleaning, I sat down for a moment on the couch when, out of the blue.......
There was Sophie.
She jumped onto the arm of the couch and onto my lap. Purring as loud as can be, stretched out facing me. Eyes squinting, keeping my lap warm, she stopped me dead in my tracks and was determined to calm me down.
For the next 10 minutes, I was in heaven. Scratching her ears and head, as she cuddled with me. I was reminded of what really mattered in life. Of what to be thankful for.
Just like that, after 10 or so minutes, she was gone, back to her own morning routine.
Needless to say, I felt 100 times better.
Thanks, Sophie. Message received.
That's what I mean when I say CATS JUST KNOW.
The moral of this ditty? Next time you're feeling stressed, seek out your cat. Instant stress relief.
